Ranked Community Maps for Battlefield 2142

Update 1.50 for Battlefield 2142 has taken a massive step by being the first Battlefield update to contain community created content. Update 1.50 welcomes back the Battlefield classic, Wake Island 2142 by The Sir. Community and adding the brand new map, Operation Shingle by Jason Brice.

MODLIGHT - Battleracer

Have you ever wanted to race with your buddy using the jeeps in Battlefield 2? Now you can thanks to the Sir Community guys! Battleracer is a small mod for Battlefield 2 that makes it a complete racing game while still retaining the Battlefield feeling. While doing this it also takes you down memory lane with some old but appropriate tunes from the past.



The modification uses many of the original maps as race tracks, yet has several custom made maps. The tracks are interesting and use the terrain in imaginative ways. It's entertaining to race through parts of the maps that you don't often see and it gives you a new perspective of original game.

Since this is the Sir Community guys, they couldn't help themselves from adding something wacky to the game. Yes, the jeeps have a jet engine strapped in the rear making them reach an unbelievable speed when used at the right time, creating hilarious situations. The jeeps also have a fixed chain gun in front so you can harass the jeep in front of you to make that crucial mistake needed for you to overtake him. The modification comes complete with a timer that starts and ends the race, but also updates you at the checkpoints around the track giving you the complete racing feeling.



We had a great time using this mod in the office, challenging each other to another race over and over again. If you feel like racing, but don’t want to leave the battlefield universe, this is the mod for you!
